World Foundation Raises $52.5M for Expanded Human Verification
World Foundation raised $52.5 million in a strategic WLD token sale to expand World ID, a platform that verifies humans online using cryptography and anonymized multi-party computation.
The funding round was led by Pantera Capital, with other investors including Bain Capital Crypto and Eightco Holdings. The tokens sold are subject to a one-year lockup, limiting their immediate market circulation.
World ID has reached over 39 million users and 18 million Orb-verified humans, generating over 475 million World ID proofs since launch.
The foundation will use the funds to expand World ID for enterprises, consumers, and AI agents. Pantera Capital's Cosmo Jiang noted that 'the need for Proof of Human is becoming acutely clear with the acceleration of AI development.'
