World Foundation Sells $52.5M in WLD Tokens to Fund Expansion
The World Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the World project, has sold $52.5 million worth of WLD tokens to fund its expansion plans.
According to a report by The Block, Pantera Capital led the round with participation from Bain Capital Crypto, Eightco Holdings (ORBS), Selini Capital, and Susquehanna Crypto.
The WLD tokens were sold at $0.37 each, and all of them will be locked up for one year. The funds raised will be used to develop World ID technology, which is currently integrated with platforms like Zoom, DocuSign, Okta, Vercel, and Tinder.
World ID has attracted over 39 million users, with over 18 million completing the Orb real-person verification process.
