Worldcoin Opens Up ProveKit Identity Verification Toolkit
Worldcoin has released the source code for ProveKit, its zero-knowledge identity verification development toolkit used for World ID. This move is intended to allow external developers to build applications that verify a user's age, nationality, and possession of an ID card without exposing personal information.
ProveKit v1 is optimized for verification in off-chain environments such as servers and mobile devices. The company plans to reduce proof size and generation time with the upcoming version 2 release. Additionally, Worldcoin is considering support for the Groth16 zk-SNARK method to enable more efficient verification in on-chain environments, including World Chain, Ethereum, Base, and Solana.
