Writer Unveils Palmyra X6 with Faster AI Agents and Lower Token Costs
Writer has introduced Palmyra X6, a new AI model designed for enterprise marketing and revenue tasks. The company claims that this model is faster and more cost-effective than its predecessors, with average costs reduced by up to 50%. The upgrade was made possible through post-training work on the open-source GLM-5.2 model.
The Palmyra X6 model charges $2 per million input tokens and $8 per million output tokens. Writer's CEO May Habib stated that companies are now prioritizing practical costs over benchmark results, saying 'I think the enterprise is absolutely sick of chasing the next benchmark.' They want flattening cost, and it seems like nobody can deliver that.'
The company has also updated its agent platform to reduce token use during complex workflows. The upgraded system, called the Writer Agent platform, operates at an average cost reduction of 52% when paired with Palmyra X6. This is a result of changes made to the harness that manages how AI agents receive instructions and complete tasks.
Writer's research has shown that small changes to the harness can reduce average costs by 40% during testing. The company added reporting and governance controls to its agent platform, allowing administrators to track activity, spending, and performance across teams.
