Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026 Explores Cryptocurrency Integration into Banks
The Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026 took place from August 17 to 20 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The event was organized by SALT and Kraken and attracted around 500 attendees, including US senators, financial regulators, and executives from the cryptocurrency and finance industries.
Jonathan Gould from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) discussed the relationship between banks and cryptocurrencies in a session. He stated that 'cryptocurrencies are part of banking services' and mentioned that 23 out of 40 new bank license applications received by the OCC since the Trump administration included some form of digital asset business.
Caitlin Long, CEO of Custodia Bank, predicted that stock tokenization would become more widespread in 12 to 24 months. She also noted that this could lead to 'tokenized dollars' entering the banking system.
