Wyoming Chooses Chainlink Over LayerZero for FRNT Reserve Verification
The Wyoming Stable Token Commission has expanded its partnership with Chainlink to verify the reserves of its Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), marking a significant vote of confidence in the cross-chain infrastructure provider. The decision follows an internal security review that raised concerns about LayerZero's operational security and disclosure practices, which were used previously for FRNT.
Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) has become the sole solution meeting Wyoming's stringent requirements for cross-chain infrastructure. The migration was executed without requiring any action from existing FRNT holders, and the token remains live across eight blockchains: Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Hedera, Optimism, Polygon, and Solana.
The FRNT market capitalization sits below $1 million, but its significance lies in its status as a state-issued token. Every FRNT is backed 1:1 by US dollars and US Treasuries, with the reserve income generated from those Treasury holdings flowing directly into Wyoming's School Foundation Program, which funds public education across the state.
