Wyoming's FRNT Stablecoin Gets Near-Real-Time Reserve Data with Chainlink
Wyoming has taken another step to increase transparency in its state-issued stablecoin, FRNT. The Wyoming Stable Token Commission announced on September 2 that it had adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve for FRNT, making independently examined reserve and supply data available onchain for near-real-time access by blockchain applications, regulators, institutions, and tokenholders.
According to the joint announcement from the Wyoming Stable Token Commission and Chainlink, this integration goes beyond the monthly reporting required under federal law and builds on Wyoming's existing daily FRNT attestations. The Commission is still working to adopt Chainlink Proof of Reserve Secure Mint, which would prevent new FRNT from being created unless verified reserves could cover the resulting supply.
FRNT was launched in January 2026 as the first fiat-backed, fully reserved stable token issued by a U.S. public entity. It is backed by U.S. dollars and short-term U.S. Treasuries, with income from the reserves helping support Wyoming's School Foundation Program and diversify state revenue.
Anthony Apollo, executive director of the Commission, said that the Chainlink integration would give the public verifiable confirmation that FRNT remains backed by high-quality reserve assets. Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, added that this deployment demonstrates how a government can put verifiable onchain financial infrastructure into production.
