X Considers Stablecoin Pay for Creators Amid Fintech Push

X is considering using stablecoins like USDC to pay creator royalties on its platform, according to reports from CoinDesk. This move aligns with a growing trend of tokenizing influencer compensation in the industry.

The company has been overhauling how it pays creators, phasing out its Revenue Sharing program in favor of an Original Content Rewards Program that rewards users who bring original ideas and content to the platform. While X's announcement does not mention stablecoins or digital assets, the company is exploring new payment options.

X began rolling out X Money, a peer-to-peer payments service, earlier this year, but neither the company nor its banking partner has confirmed plans to add any cryptocurrency to the service. However, SpaceX uses stablecoins to collect cross-border payments from Starlink customers in emerging markets.
