X Considers Stablecoin Payouts for Creators Amid Revenue Sharing Overhaul
X, the social media platform co-founded by Elon Musk, is exploring the use of USDC and other stablecoins as payment methods for creators. This move comes as X prepares to replace its existing revenue-sharing system with a new program called Original Content Rewards.
The change will take effect on September 8, when X's Revenue Sharing program will be discontinued. The new rewards system is designed to incentivize creators who produce original content by paying them based on qualified impressions from Premium subscribers viewing their posts in the Home Timeline.
According to a report, Circle's USDC stablecoin is among the options being considered for creator payouts. X has not yet confirmed which payment method it will use or when stablecoin payouts may be introduced.
