X Eyes Stablecoin Payments for Creators as Part of Monetization Overhaul

X, the social media platform led by Elon Musk, is considering offering creators stablecoin payments as part of its overhaul of monetization programs.

The company is exploring using stablecoins, such as Circle's USDC, to pay creators and others posting on the platform, but a final form for the payouts has yet to be determined.

USDC would allow X to offer a single, dollar-denominated settlement solution across markets, rather than relying on a patchwork of different domestic banking networks.

X is also introducing Original Content Rewards, which will replace its Revenue Sharing program on September 8. This new program prioritizes original reporting, analysis, videos, photographs, and substantive commentary from creators with at least 500 followers and 500,000 impressions from verified accounts.
