X Integrates Crypto Trading with Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini
Elon Musk's social media platform X has expanded its financial features with the launch of the Cashtag Program, in partnership with top crypto exchanges Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini. The program allows users to trade through participating brokerages directly from the app.
Cashtags are interactive destinations that provide real-time access to market conversation and financial information for stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies. With the launch of the X Cashtag Program, users can now tap a supported cashtag, select the 'Trade' option, and proceed to trade on a participating brokerage.
The program is part of X's effort to become the 'Everything App,' offering a range of financial features such as P2P transfers, direct deposits, a debit card, and yields on balances through its X Money service. According to Monique Pintarelli, Head of Global Advertising at SpaceXAI, the Cashtag Program connects financial conversation to action.
Mridul Singhai, Product Engineering Lead at X, noted that cashtags close the gap between a ticker on the timeline and the market itself, allowing users to trade seamlessly with one of the brokerage partners while accessing live charts and conversations.
