Xiaomi Stakes Foldable Claim Ahead of Apple with Xiaomi 18 Fold Unveiling
Xiaomi has unveiled its latest flagship device, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The foldable phone boasts a unique 'mid-fold' design that balances phone usability with larger-screen productivity.
The device features a 5.38-inch cover screen and a 7.58-inch inner display. Its new shape gives the Xiaomi 18 Fold a shorter and wider profile compared to previous Mix Fold models. When unfolded, the screen is ideal for multitasking and video viewing, while the closed phone takes on a passport-like shape.
The phone's rear camera bar houses three Leica-developed cameras with an LED flash, offering a focal range from 17mm to 80mm. However, Xiaomi has not revealed every camera specification yet, so final sensor details remain unclear until the launch.
The XRING O3 processor powers the Xiaomi 18 Fold, built on a 3nm chip with a 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, and four-core NPU. The NPU reaches a claimed 200 TOPS, while LPDDR6 memory support comes from CXMT.
