XRP Attracts Institutional Capital as Regulatory Clarity Boosts Investment Case
Ripple's XRP is attracting institutional capital as investors bet on its potential to become a major settlement network for stablecoins, tokenized assets, and cross-border payments. According to 21Shares, this investment case rests on four key factors: regulatory clarity, easier institutional access, measurable network activity, and a fixed supply.
The Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) case against Ripple ended in August 2025, removing the legal cloud that had followed XRP since December 2020. This outcome matters because XRP targets banks, asset managers, and payment companies, which are the institutions least likely to allocate while its regulatory status remained disputed.
Seven U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) launched beginning in November 2025, collecting $1.3 billion during their first month and recording 55 consecutive days of net inflows. These funds remained positive through the first half of 2026 despite crypto market weakness.
