XRP Breaks Downtrend, Sets Stage for 2027-28 All-Time High
Crypto analyst JD has identified a significant technical shift in XRP's price action. After months of watching, he believes that XRP has printed its first higher high in a prolonged downtrend, and one key level now separates it from a potential run at new all-time highs.
The downtrend on the weekly chart spanned from July 2025 to mid-2026, during which XRP dropped from an all-time high of $3.65 to a low around $1. This low sits near the 0.786 Fibonacci retracement level at $1.0133.
JD's analysis centers on the recent weekly candle, where XRP bounced and broke above the descending trendline after bottoming near the 0.786 level. The breakout saw XRP rise by over 50% in under three days, clearing the previous lower high and establishing the first higher high in the sequence.
The critical level JD identifies is a horizontal resistance zone between roughly $1.85 and $1.95, highlighted in blue on the chart. This zone previously acted as support during the downtrend before price broke below it.
