XRP Catalysts in September May Not Be as Bullish as Expected
The XRP (XRP -2.56%) community is abuzz with excitement over three potential catalysts for the coin and its ledger, all set to land in September.
However, these catalysts may not live up to their promise as bearish outcomes are more likely than positive ones.
The first catalyst is an upgrade to the XRP Ledger (XRPL), which aims to boost efficiency by allowing app developers to bundle multiple transactions into one unit. While this might sound bullish, it could potentially decrease the already low fee intake on the XRPL, making it far from a slam dunk for being a positive catalyst.
The Federal Reserve's next meeting on September 15 and 16 is another potential catalyst. Despite expectations of a rate cut or pause, the base case is a hike, which would have an opposite effect on crypto prices, particularly XRP.
The Clarity Act vote in the Senate is also expected to be a major event for XRP. However, with only 15% chance of passing, according to prediction markets, this too may not bring about the bullish implications that investors are hoping for.
