XRP Community Awaits Clarity on September 15 Crypto Regulation Vote

The upcoming vote on the CLARITY Act has become a major talking point among XRP holders, particularly as it approaches its September 15 deadline.

Ripple's native token appears to be in a favorable position due to a previous court ruling, which classified XRP as a digital commodity by the SEC in March.

The CLARITY Act aims to establish a comprehensive framework dividing responsibility for crypto between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Ripple's Chief Legal Officer described September 15 as a 'bellwether' for whether comprehensive crypto legislation can continue advancing through Congress, arguing that the bill provides a more permanent foundation than agency rulemaking alone.

The Senate will not vote on passing the CLARITY Act on September 15, but rather vote on cloture on the motion to proceed with H.R. 3633, which requires 60 votes and would allow the legislation to move toward formal Senate consideration.
