XRP Could Flip Bitcoin with an 18x Surge, Says Ripple's Former CTO
Ripple's former Chief Technology Officer (CTO), David Schwartz, has made a prediction about the future of XRP. In a recent live discussion on X Space, he stated that an eighteen-fold surge in XRP could potentially flip Bitcoin by market cap.
Currently, Bitcoin sits near $78,000, while XRP's market cap is around $87.25 billion, which is only 5.5% of Bitcoin's size. This significant gap must be closed for XRP to surpass Bitcoin, and Schwartz believes a surge in XRP is more likely than not.
However, the near-term price action does not support this narrative, with XRP trading within a tight range between $1.375 and $1.40. Analysts have flagged a descending-triangle setup beneath resistance near $1.43-$1.46, indicating potential continued consolidation or a breakout.
Bullish models predict a clean break above $1.43 could lead to $1.50, with more aggressive targets suggesting $1.68-$2.00 if the CLARITY Act clears the Senate and ETF inflows accelerate.
