XRP Could Overtake Bitcoin in Market Value, Former Ripple CTO Predicts
Former Ripple CTO David Schwartz has sparked debate in the crypto community by suggesting that XRP could one day surpass Bitcoin's market value. In a recent discussion on X Spaces, Schwartz stated that he believes XRP could grow faster than Bitcoin, leading to a potential shift in market dominance.
Schwarz emphasized that this scenario would not result from a decline in Bitcoin's value, but rather from the rapid growth of XRP and its adoption. He pointed out that the XRP Ledger has several advantages over Bitcoin, including higher speed and broader functionality.
The former CTO expressed confidence in XRP's potential upside, stating that it is 'more likely than not' to surge in value. This sentiment is based on his expectation of significant growth in the digital asset market in the years ahead.
XRP has already demonstrated its ability to challenge major cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum. In late 2017 and early 2018, XRP briefly surpassed Ethereum's market capitalization, reaching a valuation of around $87 billion.
