XRP Crashes and Rallies: Can History Repeat Itself?
XRP has experienced four major market crashes since its launch in 2013. The token's resilience in the face of significant downturns is a testament to its staying power, with each crash followed by a substantial rally.
The most recent crash saw XRP fall nearly 73% from its $3.65 cycle high in July 2025 to $0.99 in August 2026. However, the token has rallied nearly 40% over the last four days, sparking speculation about another 1,000% gain.
The previous three crashes resulted from a combination of market downturns and negative catalysts that intensified selling pressure on XRP. In 2014-2016, the token fell by nearly 83%, but eventually rebounded with gains of 51x and 606x from its original low.
In 2018-2020, XRP suffered an 84% decline followed by a 47.1% drop in 2019. However, the token rallied in 2021 driven by the broader crypto market boom, climbing to $1.96 and representing a nearly 1,000% rally from its $0.19 price in 2019.
