XRP Derivatives Exposure Rebounds Amid Persistent Selling Pressure

XRP derivatives exposure has seen a significant rebound after a sharp contraction in late August. However, aggressive selling continues across perpetual and spot markets.

Data from Cryptoquant shows that XRP's seven-day open-interest change recovered sharply from negative 27% on Aug. 29 to positive 1% on Sept. 6.

Binance open interest in XRP sat around $244 million, while perpetual cumulative volume delta (CVD), the running difference between market buy and market sell volume, fell to approximately negative $897.1 million.

The analyst at Cryptoquant noted that 'data cannot identify the motivation behind every newly opened position,' but stated that 'the combination of higher open interest and persistently negative perpetual CVD suggests bearish taker-side positioning remains active and that traders continue to add exposure consistent with expectations of lower prices.'
