$XRP Dives Despite ETF Inflows, Regulators Delay CLARITY Act Vote
Despite the broader crypto market's 1.4% gain last week, Ripple's XRP token underperformed significantly, dropping by approximately 5% to $1.03. Bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH), on the other hand, each rose by 1%, while solana (SOL) climbed 1-4%. The total market capitalization increased to $2.19 trillion.
The decline in XRP's price is puzzling given that exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for the token continue to attract investor capital, albeit at a slower pace than previously seen. According to SoSoValue, these inflows have slowed by 93% week-over-week to around $1 million.
Regulatory uncertainty surrounding XRP's status is cited as one reason for its underperformance. The Senate has delayed consideration of the CLARITY Act, a key piece of legislation aimed at clarifying XRP's status and unlocking broader institutional participation. This vote is not expected until mid-September at the earliest.
Analysts point to several factors contributing to XRP's price apathy, including regulatory uncertainty and balanced order flow metrics. Despite this, long-term optimism remains high as experts predict that XRP will increasingly take on a structural role in global finance.
