XRP Echoes 2017 Pattern Ahead of Potential Surge
XRP is showing signs of a symmetrical triangle pattern similar to what preceded its strong rise in 2017 and 2018, sparking hopes for a potential rally. According to an analysis, XRP has been forming this pattern after its peak in January 2018, breaking above the upper resistance line in November 2024 and surging from $0.5 to an all-time high of $3.6 in July 2025.
The current price action is seen as a test of whether the long-term structure holds, with technical indicators drawing attention. The monthly relative strength index has fallen to 41.85, entering oversold territory and close to a zone that previously saw long-term buying interest in XRP.
The market is focusing on the view that the price remains weak and much of the prior rally's strength has faded. Some see volatility continuing for a while, with further retests of support possible.
