XRP ETF Exposure Grows as Institutional Investment Surges
Charles Schwab's recent filing has shed light on the growing institutional use of XRP-linked exchange-traded products. The September 8 Form N-MFP3 shows that nearly $4.8 million in XRP ETF shares were listed as collateral in the Schwab Prime Advantage Money Fund.
The collateral included Grayscale, Canary, and Franklin XRP-linked ETF products. However, it's essential to note that the filing does not confirm that Schwab directly purchased these XRP ETF shares. The disclosure can include securities posted as collateral, which may have entered the fund through financing or institutional arrangements.
Other investment firms have also reported growing exposure to XRP-linked funds. Clear Creek Financial Management disclosed 11,621 shares of the Bitwise XRP ETF for the quarter that ended June 30. Leisure Capital Management reported 16,745 shares of the Franklin XRP ETF in its second-quarter Form 13F.
The number of filings shows that XRP ETF products are entering more investment accounts and collateral structures. This contrasts with the XRP token's performance, which is down about 60% from its record high.
