XRP ETF Trading Volume Hits All-Time High Amid Institutional Surge
The XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) trading volume hit an all-time high of $125 million on August 20, surpassing the previous record by 42%. This came alongside a cumulative net inflow of $1.57 billion across seven US spot XRP ETFs, with August contributing $56.86 million in flows.
The weekly inflows accelerated significantly in mid-August, from $14.86 million to $18.38 million on August 17, and then to a record-breaking $39.78 million the following week. This was not just a one-time spike: net inflows continued even after the flash crash on August 22.
The volume increase is particularly notable given that it coincided with significant institutional activity. Whale addresses holding between one million and ten million XRP accumulated approximately 380 million tokens during the week of August 18, while XRP futures open interest rose by 27% in just seven days to $3.50 billion.
