XRP Eyes Regulatory Clarity Ahead of Crucial Senate Vote
XRP is gaining attention ahead of next week's US policy calendar as traders track the September 15 CLARITY Act procedural vote and fresh XRP ETF activity.
The crypto community is watching several key events, including the Federal Reserve meeting and Friday's CPI report. However, discussions have increasingly centered on the CLARITY Act, which would create a broader framework for dividing crypto oversight between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
For XRP, one major regulatory question has already been answered: in March, the SEC identified XRP as a digital commodity alongside Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, Cardano, and other assets. The agency said these digital commodities mainly derive value from their networks and market supply and demand, differing from assets tied to managerial profit expectations.
The Senate will vote on cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 3633 next week, but this step needs 60 votes and would only allow the bill to move toward formal Senate consideration. A failed vote could sharply reduce its chances this year.
