XRP Faces Quantum Threat as Ripple Prepares for Q-Day

Ripple is preparing the XRP Ledger for potential quantum-computing threats as researchers anticipate the advent of 'Q-Day', when a sufficiently advanced quantum computer could theoretically break current cryptographic protections and derive private keys from publicly available information.

The company's four-stage roadmap aims to identify vulnerabilities, test quantum-resistant cryptography, run existing and new security systems in parallel, and eventually migrate the broader network. This plan also includes an emergency upgrade path if quantum computing advances faster than expected.

Currently, XRP is facing resistance at $1.55, and trader Crypto Patel has flagged near-term downside risk for the asset. According to Patel's analysis, if resistance holds, XRP could fall to $0.90-$0.70, while longer term, Patel still sees $10 as possible.
