XRP Faces Regulatory Limbo as Senate Delays Clarity Act

XRP is facing uncertainty as the Senate's delay on the Clarity Act has left its market future in limbo.

The bill, which aims to clarify the regulatory status of cryptocurrencies, was expected to reclassify XRP as a non-security and bring it under the jurisdiction of the CFTC. However, its passage has been delayed until at least September, leaving XRP's rally thesis for 2025-2026 in jeopardy.

XRP's price has fallen 2.05% in 24 hours to $1.02, making it the only major token to close in the red. The delay of the Clarity Act has been met with a bearish trend, with XRP trading below both its 50-day and 200-day EMAs in a 'death cross' formation.

Despite this, prediction market traders remain optimistic, pricing in 77% odds that XRP stays above $1.00 over the weekend. However, if the token breaks below $1.00, it could signal further downside to its chart's lowest mark since 2024 at $0.9153.
