XRP Futures Volume Hits Six-Month High Ahead of Senate Vote
The XRP market has recently seen a surge in activity as futures trading volume hit a six-month high. According to CryptoQuant, this increase in volume occurred at the end of summer and is attributed to large players, or 'whales,' aggressively accumulating positions ahead of the September 15 Senate vote.
This surge in futures trading does not appear to be isolated retail speculation, as it coincided with an institutional push in the US. Specifically, US spot XRP ETFs recorded a net inflow of $18.96 million, pushing the combined assets under management (AUM) to $1.48 billion.
The market's charts are currently showing a natural consolidation range of $1.34, $1.48, with the price holding around $1.40. TradingView technical indicators suggest that this sideways movement is a 'healthy' breather, with the price establishing itself above the key moving average ($1.2739), which is now acting as support.
The synchronized inflow of money into ETFs and the ability to hold the $1.40 level point to preparations for a powerful impulse. The nearest task for the bulls is to break through the local resistance at $1.50, which could pave the way for a rapid retest of the August highs.
