XRP Healthcare Shuts Down Due to Wallet Flaw-Exposed Losses
XRP Healthcare, an XRP Ledger-based healthcare platform, has announced that it will be shutting down due to financial and operational pressures.
The decision comes after a wallet flaw exposed thousands of accounts and led to approximately $450,000 in losses. The incident occurred on September 3, when a mass sweep was traced across 10,281 payments from 4,011 sender wallets.
An investigation by XRP Healthcare's developers found that the breach was caused by how the XRPH Wallet generated credentials. Specifically, the application passed a 55-character value into xrpl.Wallet.fromEntropy(), which expected raw bytes, resulting in only the first 16 characters being retained.
