XRP Holders Warned: Don't Rush Transfers Without Understanding Destination Tags
Crypto researcher Michelle Kirby X has warned XRP holders not to rush their transfers without understanding how destination tags work. She emphasized that failing to include a required destination tag can create significant problems when trying to recover the funds.
Kirby X explained that while many cryptocurrencies require only a wallet address for transfers, XRP transactions sent to certain destinations may also require a destination tag, sometimes called a memo tag. This is similar to an apartment number added to a street address, identifying the specific customer or account for the funds.
The researcher warned that XRP holders are frequently asking questions about where to find the tag, whether they need one, and what happens if they enter the wrong information. She emphasized that destination tags are not inherently complicated but rather that many XRP holders may encounter the requirement without having received a clear explanation of how it works.
