$XRP Holders Warned of Phishing Scam Targeting 'Holder Tiers' Announcement
A scam attempt involving a fake Ripple announcement has emerged on social media, targeting XRP holders. The scammers claimed that Ripple was launching '$XRP Holder Tiers' and directing users to a fraudulent website to claim badges. However, this is entirely false, as confirmed by $XRP Ledger Foundation director of community Hussein Zangana (Vet).
The fake announcement used a fake Ripple X account to share the information, which was designed to lure unsuspecting victims into visiting a malicious website. To avoid falling victim to this scam, users are urged not to click on the link or connect their wallets, as doing so could result in stolen $XRP tokens.
Ripple has never posted such an announcement, and holders should be aware that neither Ripple nor the $XRP Ledger requires holders to claim badges or register for perks. This warning highlights a growing trend of scammers impersonating major blockchain organizations to mislead users and put their assets at risk.
