XRP Ignites Pre-September Rally with Strong Historical Anomaly
September is traditionally considered one of the worst months for cryptocurrencies, but XRP appears to be bucking this trend. According to technical analyst Xaif Crypto, since 2018, XRP has closed the first month of autumn in the green five times versus just three negative closes, with an average return of +12.19%. This historical anomaly stands in contrast to Bitcoin's behavior, which usually enters a correction ahead of September.
The current resilience of XRP is reinforced by rare market synchronization: in the final hours of August, XRP, XLM, and Bitcoin simultaneously formed identical weekly setups. This synchronized emergence of such patterns right before the start of a new month indicates that major capital is preparing for a strong upward move.
Looking beyond technical analysis, there are several factors supporting a bullish scenario for XRP. The ETF inflows into spot XRP ETFs reached a record $110.49 million in August, with assets under management totaling $1.44 billion. Banking giant Goldman Sachs also confirmed that it holds more than $86 million in XRP ETF positions.
The passage of the CLARITY Act on September 15 could definitively establish XRP's status as a digital commodity and eliminate regulatory risks. Additionally, the scheduled release of 1 billion tokens on September 1 is not expected to create pressure on order books, as historically between 600 million and 800 million XRP are immediately returned to new escrow contracts.
