XRP Integration Proposed for Elon Musk's X Money Platform
The XRPL Foundation's Chief Technology Officer Denis Angell has proposed integrating XRP into Elon Musk's X Money platform, which currently operates as a fiat-linked wallet with no crypto functionality.
Angell suggests enabling direct on- and off-ramp mechanisms between X's financial system and the XRP Ledger to connect users' everyday account balances with decentralized yield and asset management tools built directly into XRPL.
This would allow users to transfer funds from their accounts into XRP, interact with onchain primitives, and access native lending protocols and single-asset vault architectures, which aim to host tokenized representations of equities, bonds, and options natively on the distributed ledger.
The current operational status of payments on the X platform remains strictly separated from the crypto market, with users holding bank balances and executing fee-free peer-to-peer transfers between registered accounts via a Visa-backed debit card.
