This comes as the U.S. Senate is set to vote on the CLARITY Act, a bill that would establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets. The bill defines which assets fall under SEC jurisdiction and which fall under CFTC jurisdiction.

The 72-hour window mentioned by Time Traveler coincides with the Senate's scheduled vote. If passed, the bill would need only seven Democratic votes to clear the 60-vote cloture threshold.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has urged the Senate to act, warning that inaction would signal a lack of leadership on digital assets. Senator Cynthia Lummis believes Democrats will support the bill, citing over 115 wins in the text and their role in shaping the legislation.
