XRP Investors Watch US Senate Vote on CLARITY Act
XRP investors are watching the US Senate closely as it prepares to vote on the CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at regulating digital assets. The updated text of the bill, released ahead of a Sept. 15 procedural vote, adds new requirements for certain DeFi protocols and clarifies how credit unions can conduct digital-asset activities.
However, the bill still lacks bipartisan agreement, leaving its path through the Senate uncertain. Democratic skepticism remains high, with one aide describing unresolved ethics issues as 'the biggest stumbling block by far.'
Ripple's Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty has described Sept. 15 as a 'bellwether' for the legislation, arguing that there is still a viable path for Congress to establish a federal market-structure framework.
