XRP Ledger Activates Critical Fix for Upcoming Lending Protocol
The XRP Ledger has activated the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment, which went live on September 11 at 11:29 UTC in validated ledger 106,911,489. This update bundles maintenance corrections for various features, including Checks, automated market makers (AMMs), pseudo-accounts, permissioned trading, Single Asset Vaults, and the Lending Protocol.
The amendment is critical to the upcoming new lending protocol on the XRP Ledger. According to XRPL's documentation, an amendment-blocked server cannot determine whether ledgers are valid, submit or process transactions, or participate in consensus. This means that servers must support the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment to remain fully compatible with the ledger.
The activation of this amendment marks a significant milestone for the XRP Ledger. The update has been available since xrpld 3.3.0 was released on August 6, but it is now mandatory for servers to support it. This change affects exchanges, custodians, payment companies, and other businesses running their own XRP Ledger infrastructure.
The fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment has already gained the required majority of validators, with 31 out of 35 validations supporting it against a threshold of 28 at 01:45 UTC on September 12. The activation does not mean that every feature included in version 3.3.0 is now live.
