XRP Ledger Bridge Drained by Software Bug
A software flaw has drained around ~$200K from the XRP Ledger, Coreum bridge, a service that allows for token transfers between the two platforms.
The issue occurred when a bug in the software caused it to register fake deposits as real, allowing unauthorized parties to drain funds from the bridge.
The operator of the bridge has since halted operations and patched the flaw, but not before the damage was done.
The incident has led to an FBI complaint being filed, highlighting the importance of verifying information before trusting it in the cryptocurrency space.
