Anodos Finance co-founder Panos Mekras has sounded the alarm about the XRP Ledger ecosystem, describing it as 'slowly dying'. Mekras' comments come in response to Gen3's decision to step back from retail-focused development on the XRP Ledger.

Mekras highlighted Shen's contribution to the XRPL ecosystem, calling him 'one of the most important builders and contributors in the XRPL ecosystem'. He also emphasized the importance of addressing the conditions facing builders if the ecosystem wants to attract and retain more developers and projects.

Mekras reiterated concerns he has raised for over a year regarding the availability of resources for XRPL developers. He agreed with Shen's assessment that Gen3 struggled to identify a sustainable future for retail-focused platforms on the XRP Ledger due to limited funding opportunities.
