$XRP Ledger Feature Usage: Ripple Developer Debunks Common Misconception
RippleX software developer Mayukha Vadari has clarified a common misconception about the usage of certain features on the XRP Ledger.
Vadari notes that transaction volume is not always a reliable way to measure the utility of an XRPL amendment, citing the clawback feature as an example.
The clawback feature, which allows issuers to reclaim or 'claw back' tokens from users' wallets under certain conditions, was launched on the XRPL in January 2025.
Vadari points out that the liquidity and market cap of clawbackable tokens should be considered when evaluating the feature's utility, as these tokens might not need to use the transaction much.
Vadari also discussed the upcoming amendment for Sponsored Fees and Reserves, stating that utilization of sponsored fees and reserves should track the use of the sponsor field on transactions rather than the new transactions introduced (SponsorshipSet and SponsorshipTransfer).
