XRP Ledger Gains Institutional Traction Despite Bear Market
The XRP Ledger has been quietly gaining traction in institutional finance, despite its token price hovering near 52-week lows. Ireland's central bank recently approved a large-scale tokenization initiative on the XRP Ledger, allowing Aviva Investors to launch a tokenized share class of its USD liquidity fund.
This move is significant, as Aviva oversees roughly $350 billion in assets and Ireland administers around 5.4 percent of global fund assets. The partnership between Aviva and Ripple dates back to February, and the approval could prompt other asset managers to follow suit.
Ripple CEO Asheesh Birla pointed out that the XRP Ledger has processed over four billion transactions across roughly eight million wallets, supported by more than 130 validators. He noted that this is 'no longer an experiment, this is the real world.'
