XRP Ledger Hits Major Upgrade Milestone with Version 3.3.0
The XRP Ledger network has released version 3.3.0, introducing significant improvements to privacy, transaction efficiency, and institutional adoption.
One of the key features is Confidential Transfers, which allows Multi-Purpose Token (MPT) transactions to hide balances and payment amounts while still being verified through zero-knowledge technology.
The upgrade also includes Sponsored Fees, enabling banks, businesses, or platforms to pay XRP transaction fees and account reserves for users, making onboarding easier.
Other changes include Batch Transactions, Permission Delegation, Dynamic MPT, and infrastructure improvements that reduce validator memory usage by around 10% to 15%, helping the network process transactions more efficiently.
Although the software is available, the new features still require approval from XRPL validators before activation. Each amendment must receive 80% validator support and maintain that approval for 14 consecutive days before it becomes active on the mainnet.
