XRP Ledger Mainnet Awaits Further Support for BatchV1_1 Upgrade
The XRP Ledger mainnet is awaiting further support for the proposed BatchV1_1 upgrade, which would allow users to bundle up to eight transactions into one batch. Currently, 24 of 35 validators have backed the change, representing 68.57% support, but the amendment requires more than 80% approval to move forward.
According to XRPScan data, the countdown for activation has not started as the needed two-week steady support period has yet to begin. To reach the required threshold of 80%, an additional five votes are necessary from the group of 35 validators, and the number may shift if the validator set changes.
The BatchV1_1 upgrade would introduce four execution modes for bundled transactions, including 'all or nothing', 'only one', 'until failure', and 'independent'. This feature could be used to swap tokens in a single step, mint an NFT and list it for sale together, or combine platform fees into a single action.
The new version of Batch was introduced on August 6 as part of XRPL version 3.3.0, replacing the original Batch feature that had been disabled due to a security flaw discovered in February. The original code had a vulnerability that could have allowed an attacker to move funds from another user's account without permission.
