XRP Ledger Payment Volume Surges Amid Decline in Active Users
The XRP Ledger processed $620 million in payment volume over a 24-hour window, marking a 26% increase from previous periods. However, this surge in transaction value contrasts with a significant decline in active users, which fell by 22.4% to 151,500.
Analysts point out that the drop in active accounts suggests larger or more concentrated transfers between accounts are driving the elevated volume, rather than broad retail adoption.
New account creation rose 8.8% to 2,300, while transaction fees climbed 8.5% to 277.4 XRP, which is burned as part of the ledger's payment mechanism.
The network maintained its typical processing rhythm, closing 20,500 ledgers with an average resolution time of 3.87 seconds per ledger.
