XRP Ledger Scorecard Sparks Surge in Amendment Activity

XRP Ledger Foundation CTO Denis Angell highlights the surge in amendment activity following the launch of a live scorecard feature on September 3. The dashboard tracks every new XRPL feature, showing its progress from development to mainnet deployment. According to Angell, each new feature ships as an amendment that validators vote in, and once active, it becomes part of the protocol.

The scorecard shows the full spec surface for each amendment, including transaction types, optional fields, flags, result codes, ledger entries, and lifecycle. It then watches devnet activity and scores each amendment based on validated transactions that have touched it. Green cells link to the first transaction, while red cells indicate areas that need more testing.

Two days after its launch, the scorecard has seen a surge in amendment activity, with 278 pieces of amendment surface exercised for the first time. Two amendments have reached 100% coverage, and Devnet as a whole is at 91%. Eight of the 16 amendments have every cell green, linked to at least one validated transaction.

XRP Ledger Foundation CTO Denis Angell also drew an analogy from quantum physics, stating that 'a system behaves differently once it's observed.' He noted that this principle applies to ledgers as well, emphasizing the importance of observation for system behavior.
