XRP Ledger Seen as Future of DeFi Amid Regulatory Pressure
Analyst Jake Claver argues that decentralized finance (DeFi) is at a crossroads, and its path will determine whether it attracts institutional capital on a large scale. According to him, DeFi can't scale without someone accountable standing behind it.
In his view, institutions won't engage with liquidity pools that lack an accountable operator. He believes fiduciaries need to know who controls the pool, who approved the strategy, and who's liable if something breaks.
Claver also thinks DeFi needs a new kind of verification beyond standard KYC and KYB checks. He proposes 'Know Your Agent,' which verifies who authorized an AI trading or treasury agent and what permissions it holds.
The analyst highlights the XRP Ledger as the future of DeFi, citing its track record of never going down in its entire operating history. He also mentions its built-in decentralized exchange, fast finality, and recent amendments adding permissioned domains and credentials directly into the protocol.
