XRP Ledger Sees 490K New Accounts in H1 2026 Amid Stablecoin Activity

The XRP Ledger has seen significant growth in the first half of 2026, adding nearly 490,000 new accounts to its network. This brings the total number of accounts on the ledger to approximately 8.4 million.

According to public XRPL account-growth data, the surge in new accounts is linked to Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin activity, including deployment and minting during the period. While not every new account is an active user, this growth indicates a broader expansion of the network beyond XRP transfers.

The XRP Ledger is trying to broaden its role beyond payments into stablecoins, tokenized assets, and enterprise-friendly features. The addition of new accounts suggests that more users or systems are interacting with the network, which could support Ripple's goal of creating a concrete settlement asset for payments.

However, it's essential to note that account counts do not necessarily translate to active user numbers. Other metrics such as daily active accounts, transaction volume, payment volume, and token issuance would provide a more comprehensive view of the network's health.
