XRP Ledger Sees Record Account Growth Amid Price Lag
The XRP Ledger has reached a significant milestone in the first half of 2026, adding 489,739 new accounts between January 1 and June 30. This brings the network's total account count to over 8.4 million, with active accounts surpassing 8.42 million by July.
The growth is largely driven by the increasing use of Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin, which has a circulating supply of approximately $873 million on the XRP Ledger. Every transaction involving RLUSD settles in XRP fees, creating structural demand for the token as a utility.
XRP held on exchanges has fallen to a seven-year low of 2.748 billion tokens, indicating that holders are moving their assets into self-custody or longer-term positions. Meanwhile, spot ETF inflows for XRP have reached $1.5 billion on a cumulative basis, but the price remains down 41% year-to-date at around $1.07.
