XRP Ledger Sees Surge in Trading Volume Amid Decline in Active Addresses
The XRP Ledger saw a significant increase in trading volume in the second quarter of 2026, rising 79% from the same period last year to 3.57 million XRP per day.
This growth in trading activity, however, came with a decline in the number of accounts participating in trades, down 40% over the same period to 1,111 accounts per day.
The average account on the XRP Ledger traded three times as much as it did a year ago, moving 3,217 XRP per day in Q2 2026 compared to 1,072 XRP per day in Q2 2025.
Despite this increase in trading activity, the number of active addresses on the XRP Ledger fell by over 23% in the first half of 2026, and transaction fees decreased by 38% across seven major blockchain networks.
