XRP Ledger Sees Surge in Transaction Values Despite Decline in Active Users
The XRP Ledger has reached an impressive milestone of 8 million activated accounts in mid-2026, but the numbers tell a different story. Daily active addresses have dropped sharply by about 61%, indicating less retail activity.
Despite this decline in users, average transaction values have surged to around $85,000, surpassing Bitcoin and Ethereum averages. This surge is mainly driven by institutional transfers using Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD and tokenized real-world assets.
This shift from retail to institutional use is supported by regulatory clarity from Ripple's legal win against the SEC, making XRPL more attractive for large financial players. Investors should focus less on user counts and more on transaction size and asset composition to gauge XRPL's health going forward.
