XRP Ledger Sees Surge in Transactions as Network Dynamics Shift
The XRP Ledger has seen a significant surge in transactions processed per ledger, increasing by 187.9% to 189.29. This growth coincides with a 19.3% jump in payments on the network, reaching around 568,100. The average number of transactions per ledger has increased due to fewer closed ledgers, which have fallen by 74.4%. Despite this, other fundamental indicators show declines: successful transactions dropped by 16.3%, and total transactions declined by 26.4%.
The XRP Ledger's network dynamics are experiencing a divergence in trends. While there is less new account activity, with active accounts down 64.5% to 4,800 and newly created accounts contracting 77.7% to 463, transactional density per ledger has surged. This is reflected in the rise of active users, which increased by 157% to around 478,300.
The average payment value transferred fell sharply, decreasing by 82.2% to about 70.8 million XRP, indicating a larger number of smaller payments are being made across the network. Transaction fees also dropped, falling by 67.5% to 92.2 XRP, directly reducing the pace of XRP burned via network usage.
XRP's price has moved sharply in response to these changes, breaking out from around $1.00 and currently trading at $1.41. Despite retreating from a recent spike to $1.70, the digital asset continues to trade above its long-term moving average of approximately $1.35.
